Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information TimeSync collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and honest.

1. What We Collect

• Account info — your email, display name, and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
• Schedule data — busy blocks, free time, notes, colors, and remote/online flags you create.
• Friend connections — the friend codes you've added and the schedules you've imported.
• Optional uploads — if you import a schedule via image, we run OCR locally on the server and only keep the parsed text long enough to extract blocks.
• Basic logs — standard server logs (IP, user agent, error traces) used to debug and protect the service.

2. How We Use It

To provide the core features of TimeSync: showing your schedule, computing free time with friends, sending password reset emails, and improving the service.

3. Sharing

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. Your schedule is only visible to you and the friends you've explicitly shared a code with. We may share data with the third-party services we rely on (e.g., MongoDB Atlas for storage, AWS for hosting), strictly to operate the app.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account and schedule data until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.

5. Your Rights

You can update or delete your account at any time. To request your data or have it removed, email hello@timesync.app.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including hashed passwords and HTTPS in transit. No service is 100% secure, so please use a strong password and don't reuse one from another site.

7. Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
